nendo Designs Reusable Bags for Lawson

nendo has designed two reusable bags for Lawson, the convenience store titan in Japan. The roll-up ecobag was required to be as compact and easy-to-access as possible, assuming it being carried in another bag or in a pocket based on the unique purchase behavior of convenience store customers, who stop by on the way to somewhere to buy a few items rather than a basketful of groceries.

The cloth bag is stored in a stick-shape case, and it can be pulled out at once by pulling the ring with one finger. The case changes its role to be a "grip" of for the bag that does not bite into the fingers, being more user-friendly than typical cloth bags. The bottom is large enough to hold a convenience store bento lunch placed flat, and the side of the bag is designed with a wide opening so that large bottles can be easily taken in and out.

After use, the bag is quickly stored back in place by turning the dial on the side of the case. The bag is designed to be quickly taken out and easily stored while standing or walking without the hassle of unfolding/folding.

The reusable duo ecobag divides its internal storage space into two layers, one above the other. It features a hammock-like mesh component that normally functions as an inner pocket, until rebuttoned across the bag to create an upper storage space.

Purchases once separated into different plastic bags can now be carried in one reusable bag. The body is made of recycled plastic material, and the mesh part is stretchable to hold the item on it by snugly fitting the shape.

The bottom of the primary compartment is designed to hold a bento box (a convenience store staple), and the mesh is sized for a 500 ml bottle placed on its side.

When not in use, the bag may be stored in the inner pocket to save space while being carried.
